Our location has been the host to the native Timucuan
Indians, both British and Spanish settlers, and Oswald's
Ferry Crossing Plantation. For over 150 years, old King's
Road ran from St. Mary's, Georgia to New Smyrna Beach,
Florida and crossed the Tomoka River at this location.

Early residents of Ormond would gather here to meet
travelers at this Tomoka River ferry crossing, which
became known as Buckhead Bluff. Later, our bluff location
were designed incorporate thefeel of the bluff and its river
vistas into a pleasant, casual atmosphere.
